Excellent reproduction of the Pop-Open gas cap used on 1967 and 1968 Mustangs WITHOUT the GT or running horse emblem. This "blank" cap DOES have the holes to mount an emblem and is the type that was covered by a decal on all 1967 and 1968 Shelbys. This cap can be covered by any emblem to customize your car.
Original Pop Off gas caps used a spring loaded seal that pressed against the fuel tank filler neck. These could unexpectantly spring open and release gas if the caps were not clicked into place properly, or if the car went over a serious bump! These reproduction caps can either be setup exactly like the originals, OR they come with an optional regular screw in gas cap that can be used in place of the spring loaded seal. This safer alternative is completely hidden once the cap is closed to maintain the original look either way.
