These axle retainer plates are located at the the end of the axle, and they hold the axle in place. These will work with both 8" and 9" differentials with the small bearing bolt pattern (original differentials). These are an open design, which does not require the bearing to be pressed off for installation. Kit includes one pair of retainers.
