This stamped steel air cleaner base is ideal for 69-70 Big Block Mustang owners wanting to run a Shaker Hood Scoop, but not wanting to use a snorkel or breather tube. This air cleaner base is similar to the original/concours 428CJ base in height, diameter and function, but it does not have the breather tube elbow or snorkel opening. This provides a cleaner look for vehicles not running original smog equipment. Fits 1969-70 390 and 428 motors. Note: Some aftermarket intakes do not position the carburetor in the exact same location as factory and this may affect fitment. Also, although some customers have made these work on small block applications with certain intake manifolds, these are designed with the height of a the big block engine in mind so will not fit small block applications without some MacGyvoring.
