Excellent reproductions of the original hood used on 1968 Shelbys.
The SFH8L has a Fiberglass Top with partial steel reinforcing in the fiberglass frame where the hinges bolt up. Hood is made from Vacuum Formed fiberglass which makes it smooth on the inside like the originals, unlike the standard "hand laid" fiberglass which is rougher on the underside. This hood looks very much like the original... but does not have the full metal frame. Made in Canada too!
The SFH8A also has a Gel Coated Fiberglass Top with an original style Full Steel Frame. This is the closest thing to the original Shelby hood in terms of external look and frame strength... BUT the inside surface is NOT vacuum formed and looks rougher than the originals. Some folks add fiberglass to the inside surface to smoothen it out and make these concours correct.
The MF68HGT500OG is a premium hand laid hood that has metal plates where the hinges and hood latch attach, but does NOT have a full metal frame like the originals. This one looks the same on the outside, and works just as well, and actually weighs less.
