Heavy Duty Replacement starter solenoid for your 1985-1993 Mustang or 1967-1969 Boss429/428CJ/Boss302/Shelby Mustang. In 1967, Ford went to this HD Solenoid to get more conductivity to the starter on their High Power big block engines. By 1970, they decided to go back to the standard duty type. Ford did use a similar solenoid on trucks and other large vehicles, but the C7AF or C9AF "original" versions were superseded by a 1970s version. For years, guys restoring a Boss 429 or a CobraJet Shelby or Mustang would pay big bucks for a working original HD solenoid. Some went on eBay for US$2,500!!! A small company in the US now makes these exact replicas and they are must for concours restored cars. The 1985+ version looks very similar, works just as well, but is an automatic 2 point deduction at any MCA Concours Show.
